Brawley, California - This Thursday, Assemblyman V. Manuel P?rez, the Health Initiative of the Americas, and Planned Parenthood of the Pacific Southwest are hosting a Health Educators / Promotores Appreciation Mixer in Brawley.? Members of the media are encouraged to attend this event as it pays tribute to the work of unsung community health heroes in Imperial County.
The purpose of the mixer is to celebrate the contributions of community health workers and the important role they play in disease prevention and health promotion, particularly in communities that are underserved and at high-risk for chronic disease. Promotores serve as the bridge between the traditional health care system and community members, helping people access the health care and resources they need.
The event will honor individuals from various health agencies throughout Imperial County.? Each will receive a certificate of recognition expressing gratitude for their work.?
