A small city is having a problem, some bandits have recently moved in nearby (by nearby, I mean a few days travel) and the city leaders want them gone. The city doesn't have the force necessary to remove the bandits and are putting out a call to any adventurers who will do do the deed.
World outline:
Medieval fantasy with magic and such but I would tolerate technology elements to a degree (you can have a gun, no it can't be a machine gun) with no restriction on character design other then "be reasonable". Meaning, no super-wizards or incredible hulks.
There is danger to this, though. You can be killed and if that happens, you're out. I'll be as reasonable with this as anyone would be but if it would better the narrative, I'll let you figure that one out. But fear not, I won't just off you for no reason whatsoever.
